Ethan hates being wet. So much so that he will cry while he is peeing in his diaper. Believe me, I know. I've opened too many diapers prematurely and made quite a mess. This morning, he woke up after a nine and a half hour stretch. Bliss! I changed his heavy-weighted-diaper and started feeding him. He ate like a champ, but then started pulling off. I felt his diaper and sure enough he was wet. Really wet. So much so that I think a few more seconds and my bed would have suffered. I changed him and finished feeding him.
He was in a great mood! Cooing and smiling so big! I went to the living room and cuddled with him for a bit. He was so sweet talking to his mama. At one point he turned red and I could tell he was pushing, but I never heard the squirt that accompanies his poop so I didn't think about it.
We went to his play gym and he acted like he was going to roll over. He kept reaching towards toys that were just outside his reach. I alternated toys hoping to find the one that would help him turn over. All the while smelling something rank, but since Ethan wasn't crying, reassured myself it wasn't poo. Jason woke up and I bragged about Ethan being SO CLOSE to rolling over, but that arm kept getting in the way. We had been at it for some time so I thought I would give Ethan a break and do some tummy time. As I lifted him up, I saw what I had been smelling. All over the mat and his back! It was nasty! Jason laughed at me saying he will wash the mat and I should take care of Ethan. Nice.
So here I am looking at his clothes and thinking how on earth do I do this?! I take off his outfit and man almighty that poo was all the way up his back. I get Jason's assistance and hover Ethan over the trash can. We take off his diaper and Jason leaves to start Ethan a bath. I take Ethan to the nursery and clean him up as best I can. Once I finished, I picked him up and held him belly to belly. I kept chanting, "Please, don't pee on Mommy...Pllllease don't pee on mommy." Ethan is looking at me with those beautiful blue eyes when I feel it. A warmth that started at my stomach and ran down my pants. Ethan had peed all over my shirt, pants, shoes, and the floor. Jason during this time is laughing like mad and stops to say, "This would make a great blog." So here you go.
